Summer Nights

This mix took a bit of a different direction than I’d originally intended. First titled “Sail Away,” I’d saved and prepared several more tropical tracks – with the intent of building a playlist on that indie-electronic-beach club vibe. Think sailing the Adriatic, and nights on Croatian islands.

Many of those tracks stayed, though they became surrounded by classics; by the summer time tracks of our [my] parent’s camp fires, and of the windows down dance around songs of my rock ‘n’ roll jr. high and high school experience(s).

It’s new, it’s old, it’s just what I’m looking for from a casual backyard BBQ in the sunshine.

It’s lyrics you know and love, and (hopefully) a song or two you’ve never heard. Tracks you’ll sing around a late night camp fire, and songs to soundtrack a few afternoon games in the sunshine.

This is summer nights. This is campfires and best friends. Days on the lake. Boat rides, afternoon beers, and the sun on your skin. Road trips. Nights at the cabin, and nights on the beach. Hot sand, cool water, and shining stars. A blend of new and old, I hope this mix finds you well; like summers gone and summers to come.
